Expert Committee Approves Amendments in EC accorded to Lower Kopili HEP (120 MW) with Supplementary Conditions

The re-constituted Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) for River Valley and Hydroelectric Projects, of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), convened its second meeting on 26th October 2023. Chaired by Prof. G. J. Chakrapani, the committee extensively deliberated on the grant of Environmental Clearance (EC) to proposed 1000 MW Gandikota Pumped Storage Hydro-electric Project and amendment sought by Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd. in the EC granted to the Lower Kopili HEP (120 MW) in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao, Assam.
